Multidisciplinary Womenswear Designer that recently relocated to Stockholm after 10+ years in London. With experience in fashion (MUUSE Project, TOM FORD, Kinder Agguini) to sportswear & performance (PUMA Black Label by Hussein Chalayan, The English National Ballet, The New English Ballet Theatre) to Eight Hour Studio and to the latest project with up-and-coming upcycling brand RETHREAD label
In 2016 after a global success with Danish label MUUSE Project, LOUISE KÖRNER label was founded which received multiple awards for its collections and support from Swedish Fashion Council, Swedish Trade Federation and sponsorship by Copenhagen International Fashion Fair (CIFF). It later developed into a freelance buisness and one-off designs for private clients.
In 2019 I decided to take an important Master´s degree in
Fashion Design Technology Womenswear at London College of Fashion,
focusing on sustainability and innovative sustainable solutions.
An academic research and practiced-based Master´s project that sought to discover new possibilities of “future-proofing” garments with the aim of prolonging their lifespan and addressing the increasing concerns around sustainability. (To read the full Master Thesis, get in contact)
After sharing my master´s submission, I had the honor to share and inspire the next generation of designers on the BA womenswear course at London College of Fashion in 3D-development and design.
AWARDS // ACHIEVEMENTS
Received press/editorial recognition in multiple publications, fashion films and music videos. Held university seminars and been
panellist at Tate Britain Museum and at London City Hall regarding the costume designs for the English National Ballet.
Winner of The PREMIUM YOUNG DESIGNER AWARD 2014 in Womenswear
for exceptional designs and forward thinking, displayed at Galeries Lafayette in Berlin.
Awarded the SWEDISH FASHION TALENT OF THE YEAR Award 2016
by the Swedish Fashion Council during Stockholm Fashion Week.
Finalist in SHOW UP Fashion Award 2016, Marketplace Borås Sweden
Finalist for the British Fashion Council X British Library Research Award
Shortlisted as “One to watch” 2019 by the British Fashion Council
